ESLF 011 Language Foundations 1: Reading & Writing
The focus of this course is reading and writing skills in English. Students will improve their reading comprehension and general writing skills through intensive participatory practice. In addition, they will work on increasing vocabulary and grammatical accuracy, while developing fluency in listening and speaking skills. ESLG 050 Graduate Preparation
The purpose of Grad Preparation is to prepare students for graduate level classes at VIU, while giving students the opportunity to enhance their discussion, listening and presentation skills. This course will focus on developing reading strategies, responding to readings, putting together literature reviews, and writing for graduate specific tasks. (20:0:0 for 14 weeks)
Prerequisite: Min. "B" in each of ESLU 051 and ELSU 052; or an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0.
