If you need help or have questions, email Connect@viu.ca.

Submit your application, transcripts and additional forms or documentation.

VIU recommends you apply using EducationPlannerBC, British Columbia’s fast and efficient centralized online application service. If you prefer, you can download an application form. A completed form can be emailed or delivered to any campus.

To complete your application submission, you should arrange for an official transcript to be sent to VIU from your high school and any colleges or universities you have attended. Some programs require applicants to submit additional documentation. An application fee is required for each program you request admission to.

Within two weeks of receiving your application for admission, VIU will send you an email response acknowledging receipt of it and notifying you of any next steps to complete your application. Applicants are considered for admission only when all required information and documentation has been received.

International students

International students wishing to apply for admission to Vancouver Island University will find complete details and advice within WorldVIU.

Important Notes

All applications, transcripts, and additional forms become the property of Vancouver Island University and are not returned, whether a student is accepted or not. The only exception is where a document is deemed to be irreplaceable. If submitting such a document, please request its return at the time of submission.

Students applying for more than one program must submit an application for each request; however, only one set of transcripts will be required.

A new application must be completed any time a student is re-applying for a program – it may also be necessary to re-submit all supporting documents.  If you are considering taking a year off, you should explore the opportunity for an official Leave of Absence.
